Glenwood Sunday Market Opens for 6th Outdoor Season Sunday, June 7, 2015
The award-winning Glenwood Sunday Market, a project of Rogers Park Business Alliance, is set to launch its Sixth Outdoor Season on Sunday, June 7, 2015. Rogers Park Business Alliance Executive Director, Sandi Price says “It is our pleasure to warmly invite you to join the market’s farmers, food artisans, founders, supporters and volunteers for Opening Day which begins with a Welcoming Ceremony at 8:45 a.m. followed by the official market opening at 9:00 a.m.”
The market is held every Sunday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. June 7 – October 25, 2015 on southbound Glenwood Avenue between Lunt and Morse on the west side of the CTA Morse Ave. stop. With the mission to make sustainable, regionally produced foods accessible to our whole community and the vision to an equitable, ethical and secure local food system, Glenwood Sunday Market is pleased to bring some of the finest local farms and food artisans to the Rogers Park neighborhood each Sunday. All of the market’s vendors work sustainably with preference given to those who work locally based and organically whenever possible.
This year the market is thrilled to welcome back many favorites including B True Bakery, Bennison's Bakery, Big Head Farm, Breslin Farms, Defloured – A Gluten Free Bakery, Earth First Farms, Gretta's Goats, Hardin Family Farms, Katherine Anne Confections, Midnight Sun Farm, Mint Creek Farm, Phoenix Bean, Salted Caramel, Sauce and Bread Kitchen, River Valley Ranch, Stamper Cheese, The Urban Canopy and Tomate Fresh Kitchen. New vendors include two produce farms – Dirt Doll Chicago and Wild Beet; a new meat farm – Finn’s Steak & Eggs Ranch; a new fish purveyor – Sitka Salmon; and a new prepared food artisan – Elsie’s Canning and Pies.
