Our preference is for farmers growing within a 200 mile radius of zip code 60626, who grow using sustainable, ecological and organic practices. The principle of "Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food" is central to our market practices. Our farmers and food artisans are thoroughly vetted to meet this criteria.
B True Bakery joined the market in June, 2011 and is the brainchild of French Pastry School graduate Brady Braden. Brady produces all-natural, whole grain baked goods with incomparable flavor and remarkably rich texture. Our products are naturally free of trans-fats and enriched, refined flours. Our whole grain sweets are a delicious indulgence you can enjoy with peace of mind. Breakfast is a great time to increase your daily whole grain consumption and our varied selection of morning pastries will surely please any member of your family. Our rustic artisan breads are made with a wide variety of grains and flours, providing a multitude of flavors and textures for you to enjoy.
Bennison's Bakery joined the market in June, 2010 and has been a North Shore institution since 1938, earning a reputation as a high quality full line bakery with an emphasis on European style pastries, cookies and custom decorated cakes. It is one of the few bakeries in the country to employ two Certified Master Bakers. Both bakers completed the training and testing required to obtain this certification, the highest level a baker can achieve. Owner and Certified Master Baker, Jory Downer, grand prize winner of the Coup du Monde in 2005. ensures that both are at the top of their field and that Bennison's products will always be of the highest quality.

Crafthouse Market Goods offers artisanally prepared foods such as handcrafted sausages, fresh pastas and hand-cut steaks and chops. Chef/owner Peter Camphouse obtains his raw ingredients exclusively from small production, family operated regional farms. Be sure to try the Pirate Wurst, Belgian Wit, Cured Pork Belly and Country Pate!

Dennanne Farms is owned and operated by beekeepers, Denny and Anne. They have one acre of hives and the honey they collect is extracted from their hives, strained at room temperature to remove wax and bees that may have gotten caught. Their honey is unpasteurized and 100% natural. NO high fructose corn syrup (HCFS) is mixed into the honey EVER! Denny and Anne use organic and natural methods to control for disease and pests. Using an insect fogging machine, they spray vinegar to break down bacteria and oil to drown tracheal mites. Dennanne Farms sell unpasteurized honey, honey combs (when available), honey cream, soaps and beeswax candles.
Earth First Farms is a certified organic apple orchard and vegetable farm managed by Tom and Denise Rosenfeld and family. Only 100 miles from Chicago, 100% of all produce is certified organic by the Global Organic Alliance. We are thrilled that as of August, 2012, Earth First has joined Glenwood Sunday Market as a produce vendor!
Beautifully situated on more than 60 acres of rolling land in Southwest Michigan, the farm now encompasses more than 4500 fruit-bearing apple trees, a field of strawberries, and a diverse vegetable crop that varies annually. In addition to a tree rental program and CSA, Earth First Farms sell apples, cider, pies, and vegetables. U-Pick options are also available-information is on their website.
The farm, located in Berrien Center, Michigan, has been owned and operated by the Rosenfeld family since 2005 who also manage 20 neighboring acres of organic apple orchard. Contact us for information about their annual harvest party.
Fat Blossom Farm joined the market in June, 2011. They grow beautiful food on a small farm in Southwest Michigan and are committed to sustainable ecologically-sound agriculture. With a mission is to provide delicious and nutritious food to the surrounding community, Fat Blossom grows a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers selected for beauty, flavor, and nutrition using only organic methods. Long rotations and a broad diversity of crops ensure that the land stays in balance. Vegetable varieties are selected based on flavor and nutritional value. They grow a large number of heirlooms and some newer varieties that have been traditionally bred for high vitamin and antioxidant levels. Happy food for happy people! Four Friends Farms joined the market in January, 2012 and grows produce that is delicious, nutritious and safe to eat. Varieties are chosen for flavor and only organically approved seeds are used. Produce is sustainably grown with no synthetic chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Transitioning the land on their farm in Woodstock, Illinois as they strive to achieve organic certification, Farmers Sue and Mike employ traditional farming practices maintain soil fertility and tilth such as crop rotation, cover cropping, mulching and composting, our farming practices are good for our bodies, our environment and enhance the future needs of others.

Hardin Family Farms from Michigan offers a wide variety of sustainably grown fruits and vegetables including apples, cherries, peaches, berries, apricots, plums, asparagus, corn, tomatoes, cider and other fruits and vegetables.
Katherine Anne Confections joined the market in June, 2010. Katherine Anne Confections is a local and organically focused Chicago chocolatier. Using local cream, organic sugar, they have banned corn syrup from their kitchen. Local and seasonal fruits and herbs make the most delicious, addicting treats. Hand-dipped truffles, soft dipped truffles soft honey caramels and pillow-y artisan marshmallows are favorites for gifts or, of course, a personal indulgence.

Midnight Sun Organics joined the market in June 2010 and is an organic farm working under a lease at Prairie Crossing Farm, in Grayslake, IL, and is Certified Organic by Midwest Organic Certifiers Association. Nicholas Choate-Batchelder and Becky Stark the owners and operators have received and continues to receive mentorship and training through the Farm Business Development Center at Prairie Crossing and from his neighbors and colleagues in the local organic movement.

Mint Creek Farm joined the market in June, 2010. Mint Creek's sheep feed on our farm-raised alfalfa, clover and perennial grasses in Stelle, Illinois. Mint Creek's farmers know that there are many benefits to raising animals without grains. Our lambs, grazing our grasses in the great outdoors are lean, fit and healthy.
Mint Creek Farm is owned and operated by Harry and Gwen Carr, with the help of their children, Jonathan and Raya. The Carrs started with 50 acres in 1992 and have grown to 220 acres. The sheep were originally part of their plan to enliven and enrich the soil that had been so depleted by modern mainstream agricultural practices. Using a biodynamic approach to farming makes Mint Creek's meats a truly local, sustainable treat. Check out their CSA!
Montalbano Farms joined the market in June, 2011. A small farm producing an amazing variety of fresh, locally grown produce for the Chicago-land area. Farmers Christina and Rob grow over 5 acres of specialty vegetables, fruit and herbs on family land in Plano, Illinois. They are currently transitioning to organic and plan to be fully certified in 2013.
Natures Pasture is a family owned and operated farm located in Auburndale, Wisconsin. Dedicated to growing natural food in a natural environment, their specialty is grass-fed Black Angus beef, pastured chicken and turkey. All beef is fed and finished on fresh grown perennial natural grasses. Natures Pasture believes in providing their cattle a better qualify of life by mimicking nature. Small enough to intimately care for their land, large enough to raise herds of premium grass-fed Black Angus beef, all of Natures Pasture's products are carefully and thoughtfully raised.
River Valley Ranch is a family-owned mushroom farm offering one-of-a-kind specialty foods and fresh grown produce. We handcraft our award-winning products using fresh ingredients grown right on our farm in Burlington, Wisconsin. Following the tenets of organic farming, River Valley proudly grows five varieties of mushrooms year round, including: Portabella, Crimini (aka Baby Bella), White Button, Shiitake and Oyster.
The mushrooms grow in 35 ton batches of compost, produced on the farm using agricultural waste products. It is a combination of stable bedding, poultry litter, agricultural gypsum, spent distillers or brewer’s grain. The compost is pasteurized during the mushroom growing process, making it free of weeds. No chemicals, pesticides or growth enhancers are used in the production of our mushrooms or other produce, ensuring it is some of the cleanest food available.

Stamper Cheese carries a variety of artisanal cheeses including goat and sheep's milk cheese, and cow's milk cheeses. From fresh and delicious cheese curds to their apricot or blue brie, these cheeses which are only sold at farmers markets during the summer are a must to try.
Whisked Away Pastry's Regina Gelhaus loves desserts and baking. Her love of baking started at a very early age when she helped her mom in the kitchen. Her fond memories include helping to bake everything from pizza to cake to bread. It was her dream to share her sweet treats with others, so she and her husband John decided to start Whisked Away Pastry. Regina uses the highest quality ingredients to create yummy treats including pies, tarts, French macarons, bars and cakes.
